Learning the biblical languages can enrich anyone’s experience of the Bible. It provides valuable insights you can’t get through a translation, uncovers the literary and poetic beauty of the text, and cultivates a deep appreciation for its ancient context.
Some people are intimidated by the idea of learning a language, especially an ancient language like Greek or Hebrew. But with Biblingo’s research-backed approach, learning biblical Greek and Hebrew is not only achievable, but also intuitive and fun. Biblingo has helped people from all walks of life dive deeper into the Bible through its original languages.
It will vary person to person. But in general, we find that if you spend 15 minutes per day most days, you can complete our 52 lesson curriculum in a year (1 lesson per week). At that point, you will be well-equipped to start reading the biblical text with a high degree of comprehension and fluency.
The main thing that sets Biblingo apart is that it incorporates insights from the latest research in both second language acquisition and general linguistics more extensively than any other resource. Besides that, Biblingo is the only modern language learning app that offers a comprehensive approach for biblical Greek and Hebrew.
Biblingo’s structured curriculum covers roughly the same amount of material as 3 semesters in a traditional academic context (for each language). However, most learners of Greek and Hebrew in a traditional context never reach a point where they are able to read fluently (at a good pace, with minimal effort, and with comprehension), and many have a difficult time retaining what they learn after formal studies. Biblingo offers a different approach than most academic courses (and most resources in general) that puts a greater emphasis on developing the ability to read fluently, while still teaching you all the grammatical concepts you need to know in order to read commentaries and write academic-level papers.
